I grew up in Hilo, graduated from HCC, worked as a pediatric nurse in a private practice for 13 years. Joining this family practice residency clinic has been a challenge for me, but I learn something new every day. The team here is great and we all work together to provide excellent patient care. Most weekends can be found at the beach or at various sporting events with my family. I also enjoy reading all types of literature with my book club and just relaxing.
I am originally from Keoloka`a on the Southside of Hawaii island. My journey through greater opportunities was having doors open in many directions; it directed me to Hilo. Being here in Hilo is a new adventure. “It is nothing like down south.” There are many activities available throughout the year here in Hilo. Such as the annual Pow Wow Ho`olaule`a, science fairs, many community walks for cancer, heart and babies, etc. These opportunities give great education to my son; it will prepare him for his upcoming years. Paddle boarding, paddling canoe, site seeing and learning the history of an area brings fun and great education as well. Also knowing the history of my biological family and health issues; it has brought me closer to the medical field. Working closely with patients and individuals of the community brings great inspiration with providing what is needed. But most of all, having the individual leave with a smile; along with always looking forward to their return. Aloha
